We offer generous open studio time built in to our schedule. Ceramics is a discipline that requires time and practice. Open studio time is included in the price of a class, and we encourage students to participate in classes, as they benefit from both the instruction and practice time.
If you wish to use the facility without taking a class, open studio time is available for month by month for $200 as session schedule allows, as or by purchasing an Open Studio Punch Card, $250 for 10 open studio visits. We hope these options accommodate both year round students, and seasonal students looking for a “studio away from their studio”. Monthly studio rental comes with a shelf space for the month. Punch card users may have a shelf at Sarah’s discretion. Active participants, using the studio multiple times a week will likely be given a shelf, students coming infrequently will be asked to transport work when they use the studio.
Prior to participating in open studio, participants must EITHER take a class session, OR schedule a one hour orientation with Sarah Caruso in order to learn the workflow and equipment of our studio.
Sarah reserves the right to require a student to sign up for a class if, upon orientation, it is clear that a student needs more instruction prior to safely and knowledgeably using the studio independently. Student safety, and proper use of our facility, is very important.
