Design Studio: Contemporary Ceramics as Inspiration for Your Own Work
Summer Session 1

Sue Wadoski
Fridays, 1 pm- 4 pm
June 14- July 19
$280, $265 with Early Bird Registration by May 5

This class will use the study of contemporary ceramics as inspiration for our own work.
We will examine the work of influential artists, discover and discuss what about the work moves or inspires us, and use those ideas as a guide for our ongoing projects.

The instructor will introduce work by a variety of artists and will ask students to do their own research as well, with some sources provided. Each student will choose an artist to emulate and make a body of work focusing on developing ideas and forms influenced by that artist. Class time will be devoted to making work, one-on-one consultation, and demos. Demos will be related to the specific artists the students choose. Hand-building, wheel, and combined techniques. Intermediate and advanced.

All classes include 25 pounds of clay, and the glazing and firing of those 25# during the session you are enrolled in. Additional clay may be purchased if needed. Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.

Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
