Finding Your Way with Hand-building

This class will explore the basics of hand-building using slabs, coils and pinch methods. The dual purposes of this class are to both become comfortable with these methods individually, and how they can be combined seamlessly when you have a goal in mind. This class will be loosely project based with plenty of room to customize and be creative. We will focus on creating functional pieces for the home, whether it is cups or bowls, or a serving platter, the tools are your fingertips. There will be plenty of fun tips and tricks along the way. This class is suitable for beginners, as well as students who want to firm up their hand-building skills.
*All classes include 25 pounds of clay and the glazing and firing of those 25#, though we encourage you to pay what you can for materials, as costs continue to rise. You will be provided an option on checkout to pay for your clay. Additional clay may be purchased if needed. Beginner tool kits may be purchased for $24 ($25.50 including tax).
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.
Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
