Autumn Adult Classes

One of the driving missions of The Meetinghouse Clay Center has been to provide affordable, high quality community ceramics education.

Over the past 4 years clay and materials costs have risen roughly 70%. Electricity costs have risen significantly. Clay, materials and electricity for the firing of a 25# bag of clay is roughly $30-$40 dollars. I have absorbed as much of these costs as I can, and have passed a portion on to students through raising class fees a small amount, as well as raising the price of clay a few dollars, but it’s not enough.

I am also keenly aware that for many students, clay class and open studio time is vital to their social and emotional support, necessary to their well-being despite being a financial stretch. Some students have a little more flexibility in their budget.

For this session I am asking you to pay what you are able for the bag of clay that is included in your class. If you cannot pay anything additional, you still get a bag of clay. Whatever you can chip in will offset costs considerably. Select “Class Clay – Pay What You Can” and add this to your cart if possible.

Additional bags of clay purchased in-studio will remain the same. This option is only for the initial bag of clay that has always been included in the course fee.
